Will Padmavati be Sanjay Leela Bhansali's first movie to be released in 3D?

Perhaps one of the most anticipated Bolly flicks of the year, Padmavati has given fans yet another reason to be excited.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s latest magnum opus starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh could be coming to cinema screens in 3D, along with 2D screenings.

According to Mid-day.com, a source revealed: "The executives were excited after watching the trailer. They told producers, Viacom 18 that the film must be seen in 3D for viewers to enjoy the filmmaker's vision. Bhansali was on board too."

"Being mounted on an approximate budget of Rs 170 crore, this decision would make the film a bigger draw and increase its prospects at the box-office," the source suggests.

According to the source, the unit will announce the news with an extensive marketing campaign on October 30. "Until then, everything is being kept under wraps. Given that time is a constraint, ahead of the film's release, a team of Hollywood technicians are working on making it suitable for a 3D outing as the patchwork continues in Mumbai simultaneously."

The movie will apparently also be dubbed in Tamil and Telegu to appeal to a wider audience.

The period drama, which is based on a fictionalized account of the legendary Rani Padmini's life, is slated for release on the 1 December, 2017.
