Judwaa 2 becomes Bollywood's second highest grossing movie of 2017

Varun Dhawan just keeps delivering hit after hit.

His latest, Judwaa 2 has become the highest Hindi grosser of 2017 after collecting 137 crores at the Indian box office. Movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures Monday morning:

The film, also starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles, comes second only to Baahubali: The Conclusion which collected over 1700 crores worldwide and just it's dubbed Hindi version went on to earn 510 crores approximately, reports Hindustan Times.

Two of the other mammoth films to come out of Bollywood this year so far include Shah Rukh Khan's Raees (128 crores) and Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (132 crores). Surprisingly, Salman Khan's Tubelight, which attracted a lot of criticism, was also close behind, raking in 114 crores.

Judwaa 2 is a remake of Salman Khan’s 1997 hit comedy, Judwaa that featured Karisma Kapoor and Rambha in lead roles, both of which have been directed by David Dhawan.
