Ranbir Kapoor thinks Robert De Niro is 'not so great anymore'

Ranbir's meet with Hollywood stars has not been the best.

When he chanced upon his favourite Hollywood star Natalie Portman, she told him to get lost. Quentin Tarantino ignored him and sat in his car when Ranbir went running up to him. But this one time when the Bollywood star met Robert De Niro, it was the Taxi Driver's indifference that affected him.

In an AIB podcast, Ranbir spilled the beans on his meet (including Anil Kapoor's embarrassing moment) with De Niro at Anupam Kher's acting school in Mumbai back in 2013.

The Hollywood actor, along with Ranbir, Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Aditya Roy Kapur and Varun Dhawan had been invited to meet with the students and interact amongst each other.

"It was Anupam Kher's school, he [had] invited a few actors and -- to be honest the embarrassing moments weren't photographed, but what was as equally or more embarrassing than me was Anil Kapoor. Like you have no idea what Anil Kapoor was doing on stage," said the actor.

"Anil uncle was pushing people, like Varun's coming and I'm coming and he's kicking everyone and he's sitting like this (sits up on his seat with one arm propped on his thigh) and says, 'Jaldi photo kheench, photo kheench (take the picture fast)."

He added, "We were all at our worst. And Robert De Niro was wondering 'What is happening here?' He wasn't saying anything. He didn't give a rat's a** who we were. We were asking about Taxi Driver, [and] these intelligent questions, everyone had some trivia to ask and all he did was 'Hmm, hmm' and he just looked the other way, that's all he did."

"So my impression of Robert De Niro is not so great anymore," said Ranbir.
