Deepika Padukone makes Cannes appearance in a slinky plum dress

Three Bollywood divas are expected at the Cannes 2017 red carpet — Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan.

On Day 1 of Cannes Film Festival yesterday, it was Deepika's turn to hit one of the world's most stylish red carpet.

She's been to Cannes before, but her appearance yesterday was special — she was making her debut as the global ambassador of L'Oreal Paris.

Here's how she fared:

Look 1

Deepika started her Cannes fun in a bright low-back red dress by Johanna Ortiz and Charlotte Olympia shoes. While we love the colour of the dress and the shape on her, we're not too sure about the ruffles.

We have to say though, her makeup game is strong here!

Deepika went for a beige nude lip to balance the bold teal eyes and a subtle glow on her cheek bones. She paired her look with beachy waves, a perfect fun day look.

Look 2

Deepika's got a simple yet elegant pastel Galvan London dress which has a silk finish to it and she's paired the look with Louboutin heels (which we can't look away from!) and Messika jewelry.

With the bling spot on, Deepika went neutral with the makeup.

Deepika's sporting a nude smokey eye, a pinky peach lip and a rose tinted highlighter.

Look 3

Deepika went bold in this plum jewel toned Marchesa gown, paired with heels and bag by Jimmy Choo. We love the colour of the dress and think the Xander Cage actor looks fine in wine, but we're unsure about the sheer look of the dress. Deepika also adorned herself in DeGrisogono jewels and we think she's nailed her accessories.

Deepika's got a plum lip that matches her dress, a beige smokey eye and gold highlighter to go with the amazing bling that she's decorated in.
