This video of Junaid Jamshed and Salman Ahmed singing 'Dil Dil Pakistan' will warm your heart

Pakistan's biggest 90s popstar is no longer amongst us.

Singer-turned-preacher Junaid Jamshed was on board Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-661 six days ago, which crashed en route to Islamabad from Chitral.

The news stunned his fans nationwide, and his friends in the music fraternity were equally grief-stricken. Many posted pictures with him, others remembered him from his early Vital Signs days.

Junoon's Salman Ahmed posted a video as tribute to his friend. The video dates back to 2011 and features Junaid Jamshed and his wife, Ayesha during a visit they paid Salman at his his home around his birthday in December. Salman's son, Imran made a video of the little jam session the two had.

Salman can be seen playing the guitar while JJ softly sings Dil Dil Pakistan; his wife and Salman's wife Samina can be seen singing along too.

There's a short video of them trying out new melodies at this unplugged session as well.

Born on September 3, 1965 and educated at the the University of Engineering and Technology (Lahore), Junaid enjoyed a 17-year stint in the Pakistani pop music industry.

He shot to fame as the vocalist of Vital Signs, which emerged in 1987 as the project of reclusive TV producer Shoaib Mansoor. Mansoor wanted the band to record a patriotic song and video. The song went on to become the timeless track that is Dil Dil Pakistan.
