Shah Rukh Khan meets MNS chief to discuss Mahira's role in 'Raees' promotions

Will Shah Rukh Khan's Raees ever catch a break?

From clashes of release dates to legal trouble, Raees has had enough backstage drama to make an entirely new movie. One would think with the release of the trailer, SRK would finally take a deep breath of relief. But that was not the case.

According to Indian Express, Shah Rukh Khan recently met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray at his residence. What with Mahira Khan being the female lead of the film, SRK was accompanied by Raees producer Ritesh Sadhwani and head of the MNS film wing, Ameya Khopkar, to discuss the promotion of the film.

Says MNS chief Thackeray after the meeting, "The meeting was to clarify reports that Pakistanis would be promoting the film. They wanted to say that no Pakistani will be coming to India. They also assured that till the situation between the two countries improves they will not hire any Pakistani actor."

The MNS had threatened to disrupt or ban the screening of movies featuring Pakistani actors. But it looks like they agreed to let Raees screen as long as Mahira is not involved with the promotions.
