Priyanka Chopra is the perfect choice to portray me on screen, says Asha Bhosle

If there's ever an Asha Bhosle biopic made, the legendary singer has named her pick of actor to play her in the film.

Asha believes that Priyanka Chopra is the "perfect choice" for the role, reports Indian Express.

"[She] would be the perfect choice to portray me as she is a singer. Being a singer, she can express a singer well,” Asha said at the Timeless Asha concert organised on her 83rd birthday yesterday.

Priyanka has proven her ability to morph into diverse characters, particularly in Mary Kom, where she plays the titular character of the famed Indian boxer.

Asked about her husband RD Burman’s biopic, Asha said: “It should be made. People will get a chance to listen to his music. His unreleased, forgotten songs can be brought in front of everyone if his biopic is made.”

At the event, Asha also added that she has completed writing her autobiography. So it may just be a matter of time before we really do see Priyanka croon like the legendary singer on screen.
