Fawad Khan wins award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne
He doesn't just win hearts, he also wins awards and lots of them.
The 2016 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne was a big night for Fawad as his film Kapoor And Sons won best film and he bagged the Diversity Award.
The applause as Fawad received his Diversity Award.
Rishi Kapoor took the podium after Fawad to receive Kapoor And Sons Best Film award.
The Pakistani actor also presented the Best Actress award to Sonam Kapoor for her film Neerja later in the night.
Guess who he bumped into at the awards night? Singer Sara Haider who was thankful to see a familiar face in the sea of people. "The only other Pakistani on stage! At this point in my journey I'm actually quite homesick and it was nice to see one familiar face<3 Thank you for being there :)," she wrote.
One would think Fawad is all-rounder, but the actor told media at the event that he can do everything, 'cept shake a leg, reported Mumbai Mirror.
"I wish I was that talented. I wish I could sing and dance. I swear to God, I watch these people enviously and I wish I could move like them," said the Humsafar star.
A shortcoming which he's working towards. "But I guess those are my limitations which I'm trying to overcome with time. But I’m having a great time and taking everyday as it comes," he added.
Career-wise Fawad Khan is happy about his latest offering Kapoor And Sons.
"I have been very lucky for what I have been offered so far and I'm very lucky to be a part of Kapoor and Sons."
"I don’t have a 5-year plan and my boundaries are limited to the number of films that are offered to me, and I’m pretty open, pretty receptive to the material I'm offered," said the actor.
His next Bolly release is Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in which he has an extended cameo, and will be seen alongside Pakistani actor Imran Abbas and B-Town stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
The film is set to release October 28th.
