3 reasons why Shah Rukh Khan won't work in Hollywood

Here's one Bollywood actor who doesn't have Hollywood on his mind.

While he's all praise for the Priyankas and Deepikas who are making their mark in the US film industry - he thinks they're "fantastic" - SRK doesn't see himself following suit. In an interview with Hindustan Times, he explains why.

1- "I don't think I'm good enough"

Call it false modesty or harsh self-criticism, but SRK insists that "I don’t think I’m good enough [for Hollywood".

2- "I'm very shy"

The 50-year-old actor also shared he's only comfortable when working with people he knows. “I’m very shy," he admits. "Even the people I work with on films have to be my friends. I get very awkward around new people.”

He went on to add, “I get impressed by those [actors] who go out and speak in a different language, on a set in another country, and do well. That’s fantastic. But I get scared.”

3- He'd rather make an Indian film with global appeal

What SRK really wants to do is help Indian cinema grow.

"I’m a patriotic person. I’ve always wanted to do something great for Indian cinema, but not as an actor; that is not greatness. I wanted to work something out, where Indian cinema would gain from what I’ve done, like VFX, etc,” he said.

He also hopes to make a Bollywood film that's enjoyed all over the world. “I feel that even at this stage of my career, I may become part of a film, which may be loved internationally, but is made in India. It would be something like a Life Is Beautiful (1997). I may not act in it, but I want to make a film like that,” he says.
