Next up for Umair Jaswal? Projects with Sarmad Khoosat and Meesha Shafi
Umair Jaswal has bagged some giant projects to launch his acting career.
The first of these is Dr. Hassan Waqas Rana's epic war drama, Yalghaar, which is expected to finally hit the big screen this year.
The second is Mor Mehal, Sarmad Khoosat's next big TV project – a 45-episode period drama that sees an ensemble cast bringing together actors from the old and new generation.
In a chat with Images, Umair said he feels very fortunate to have been cast in Mor Mahal:
"I'm honoured to be part of the biggest Pakistani television production to date. I'm sharing the screen with some of the best actors in the industry. Sarmad is a phenomenal storyteller and Sarmad Sehbai a wordsmith second to none. I can't wait to share the project with the viewers."
Umair will play a nawab sahab opposite Meesha Shafi in the drama.
The shoot, which went on for six months, was preceded by a 2-month workshop with Sarmad Sehbai to help actors familiarise themselves with the niceties of the Urdu language — so we can expect the drama to be a real treat.
The drama is expected to air in March.
