Farah Khan's next will be all about girl power

Bollywood director/choreographer Farah Khan is switching gears from celeb appeal to girl power.

After helming hits that were high on glamour – films like Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year – Farah now plans to make a film centred on girl power, in an effort to "reinvent" herself as a director.

“I’m writing a script which is about two girls. It’s literally a ‘girl power’ movie, but it would be much more real than the movies I have made in the past," Farah told IANS. "It will still be entertaining and fun. It will have humour, but it will have a message too."

“I think you have to reinvent yourself at all times," she continued. "So right now, I want to make this movie and after this I may want to make a Happy New Year 2 or Main Hoon Na 2… or something in the zone of those movies.”

She also revealed that Bollywood superstar and her good friend Shah Rukh Khan's production company Red Chillies Entertainment will produce the film.

Farah's films are being celebrated in Egypt tomorrow at the the 37th Cairo International Film Festival, where she is being awarded the Faten Hamama Excellence Award. Om Shanti Om is being screened at the festival, and there will be performances on Farah's film songs by local dancers.
