'Na Maloom Afraad' hero Mohsin Abbas Haider snapped up for Jawad Bashir's comedy film
After Jawad Bashir's directorial debut – the horror flick starring his wife, Maya – tanked, the funnyman is returning to familiar terrority for a second try at the box office.
And he's roped in Mohsin Abbas Haider, the star of one of Pakistan's most successful comedy films in recent times, Na Maloom Afraad.
Jawad's next film, titled Teri Meri Love Story, will be about a college romance.
"Teri Meri Love Story is a romantic comedy and it's pure entertainment for the whole family," Jawad said to Images, "It feels good to make a film in a genre which I am most comfortable with. My fans wanted me to make a comedy film. I dedicate this film to them."
He adds that the film will be shot in Pakistan, mostly in Lahore, Khanpur, Kataspur, with some scenes in different locations like Karachi and Nathiagali.
The film's cast also includes popular actor/singer Junaid Khan, Salman Shahid and Uzma Khan, and Jawad is in talks with Syra Shehroz for a role.
"It's really an honour for me that after NMA, I'm doing another movie with a director who has inspired us from childhood. I believe I will be able to entertain my audience again. I am quite excited to work on this project," Mohsin said to Images.
The film's soundtrack will include the likes of Bilal Saeed, Amanat Ali Khan, among others.
With a script written by Jawad and Ahmed Abdul Rehman, Teri Meri Love Story is set to go on the floors this month, and Jawad hopes that it will be set to release in April 2016.
