South by Southwest (SXSW) is an annual set of film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas. Its music component is said to accommodate one of the largest music festivals in the world.

"I'm thrilled to be playing at SXSW because it's a prestigious event," said Overload founder and drummer Farhad Humayun to Images.

"It not only includes music, but is also a collecting point of art, literature, and film people, booking agents and management executives. It's a recognition of the fact that the world is welcoming the new hybrid culture and sound, which Overload boasts as a modern Pakistani rock act," continued Farhad, adding that Overload will perform at six venues all over Austin.

Islamabad-based cultural organisation FACE – Pakistan’s Foundation for Arts, Culture and Education has been facilitating Pakistan's participation at SXSW, and selects artistes with the SXSW team and the Pakistani US Embassy's Public Affairs Department. The artistes' selection is based on regional diversity and diverse indigenous genres.

SXSW 2016 will run from March 11-22, 2016.
