I don't want to talk, I want to work: Meera
There is still more to Meera than lawsuits, and she's set to prove what she's learned in her 19 years of acting with a directorial debut next year.
The actress first revealed the news at a press conference a few days ago, and confirmed the same over the phone to Images.
"Yes, I am the writer, producer and director of the first film from my production house, [Shine Star Productions]. I have shot scenes in New York, Paris — on the Champs Elysees — and am now on the film's third shooting spell, which is happening in Karachi."
Meera is about to begin the shoot of a two-day hospital scene, for which she is trying to rope in Atiqa Odho, Zeba Baktiar and Nadeem Baig.
"I haven't titled the film yet, and don't plan to until it's complete. As you shoot the film, the story keeps changing. I will only title the film after the edit," she reveals.
But she doesn't want to say any more about the film. Keeping the cast, music, plot and genre tightly under wraps, she explains her decision:
"I don't want to talk, I want to work. Everyone says that I say things for publicity, so now I won't talk anymore."
"Besides, directors are very scared when making their first film," she adds. "That's why I don't want to release information before time."
But she does disclose that her first production has been a family project.
"My sister Ayeza, who lives in Germany, made the shoot in Paris possible, and my sister-in-law Menahel helped with the dresses."
The film, she says, will release on Eid next year.
