It’s wands out for Potterheads across the world as HBO released the second official teaser trailer for its much-anticipated Harry Potter television series.

The reboot of the beloved wizard story, penned by British author JK Rowling, stars Dominic McLaughlin as the titular Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger.

Unlike the first trailer, which was released in March, this one offers a detailed look at Harry’s magical world. Students put on the Sorting Hat and the Quidditch pitch is finally unveiled. We also get a glimpse at the Burrow and the Weasleys in their cosy kitchen.

And, yes, British actor Paapa Essiedu finally makes an impressive appearance as the surly Professor Severus Snape.

Essiedu faced significant backlash after being cast as Professor Snape in the upcoming television series. Some fans and critics objected to a Black actor taking on a role described in Rowling’s books as “sallow-skinned.”

The series also features actors Janet McTeer as Professor Minerva McGonagall, Nick Frost as the beloved gamekeeper Rubeus Hagrid and John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, the Hogwarts headmaster.

The first season of the series, based on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, is set to be released on December 25.
