When the flag bearers of toxic masculinity willingly walk into a boxing ring and get humiliated in front of the world, you better believe the internet will be talking about it. Self-appointed masculinity expert and serial misogynist Andrew Tate and the internet’s problem child Jake Paul suffered humiliating losses in the boxing ring this weekend.

Paul went home with a broken jaw after a bout with former heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua in Miami on Friday and Tate crawled out of a ring in Dubai with a black eye on Sunday after facing off against Chase DeMoor — best known for his appearance on Netflix dating show Too Hot to Handle.

We’ll start with with Tate, Top Bottom G, who recently declared he was CEO of the Misfits Boxing league, and one of whose first acts was to challenge heavyweight title holder DeMoor.

In a podcast before the match, he boasted of “having beaten bigger things than Chase,“ and “fought things outside of the ring much bigger than Chase”. DeMoor said “he couldn’t believe it” when he received the signed contract from the executive.

Tate seemed confident heading into the ring. That confidence was entirely misplaced because things went downhill for Mr Bottom G from the third round, when he took a pummelling. DeMoor was declared the winner after six rounds, providing the internet with a few choice shots that are definitely going to be immortalised.

For someone facing multiple accusations of assaulting women, among many other crimes, Tate sure had a hard time when his opponent was actually in his weight class and packed a punch. The internet didn’t let him forget that when he tried to brush off Sunday’s embarrassment online with some nonsense about most men “never trying” and therefore never feeling the “sting of defeat”.

His brand of hyper-macho toxic masculinity has made him the poster boy for the manosphere, an internet movement pushing anti-feminist ideals and open misogyny. Tate talks big about “alpha males” and “wolf packs” but he was sent home with his tail between his legs, bested by a man wearing a fabulous pair of pink boxing gloves.

DeMoor, on the other hand, is a former American football player best known for making it to the final round of the Netflix dating show. We‘re not sure if his gloves were meant to taunt Tate for his anti-women rhetoric, but all we can say is, “slay, girl“.

As for Paul, he’s known for talking a big game when it comes to fights. Originally a YouTuber known for childish pranks, he took to professional boxing in 2020 with a bout against fellow YouTuber Ali Eson Gibs.

The Trump supporting nuisance, who apparently celebrated one of his opponents being deported by ICE, has a record of 12 wins to two losses, which sounds good on the surface, but he’s been accused of setting up one-sided matches, including one last year with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson — Paul was almost 28, Tyson was 58, making it the biggest age gap in modern boxing.

So, naturally, when he met someone his own size (or actually larger than him), he found out how unscripted boxing really can be.

After the accusations of one-sided matches, people were hailing Joshua as the saviour of boxing.

Someone on X summed up his performance on Friday with a picture.

The internet celebrated both losses like they were personal victories.

For Tate‘s predecessor at Misfits, YouTuber KSI, “Christmas came early”.

While we don‘t think either Tate or Paul had any sense knocked into them, there lives a gentle hope in our hearts that they’ll stay down for a bit to reflect, making the internet a less irritating place to be.

Next, I believe J. Paul should challenge Chase, and Tate should likewise challenge Joshua. Obv, unlike "most men", these boys can take the "sting of defeat." Later on, these boys can list excuses, that their gullible scammed fans like, so as to help their pathetic loser persona cope with the shock of defeat.
