Ayeza Khan urges fans to deactivate accounts dedicated to her children
Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor are asking their fans to deactivate social media accounts dedicated to their children in an effort to protect the kids’ privacy.
In a “heartfelt request” posted to her Instagram account, Khan said, “As parents, it is now our responsibility to protect their privacy, allowing them to explore life without the pressure of being in the public eye.”
Khan and Taimoor have two children together, Hoorain, 10, and Rayan, eight.
The actor stated that until her children turn 18 and choose for themselves if they want to be part of the social world, the couple have decided to keep their lives private.
Addressing her fans, she said, “You have not only been with us through our highs and lows but have also watched our children grow since the day we introduced them to you. Your kindness in celebrating their milestones and sharing in their happiness has meant the world to us. We have always considered you more than just fans — you are family.”
In a special request, she asked all the fan pages dedicated to her children to deactivate their accounts because the children are not public figures. Khan also deeply appreciated the love showered upon Rayan and Hoorain.
“Your love and support will always remain in our hearts, and we are forever grateful for the kindness you have shown them throughout the years.”
The note was signed, “With love and gratitude, parents of Hoorain Taimoor & Rayan Taimoor.”
Khan’s post does not signal that the couple will stop posting pictures of their children. Just yesterday, the actor shared pictures from celebrations of Hoorain’s first fast. Other photographs of her family also remain on her Instagram page. Her request to fans also included a picture of her family.
Celebrities often opt to keep their children out of the limelight. Earlier this year, actor Zara Noor Abbas said she wanted to keep pictures of her daughter, Noor-e-Jahan Siddiqui, private and didn’t want others to post them either.
In an Instagram story, the actor said, “If I don’t show pictures of my daughter it means I would like to keep it private. Still, some people don’t have the audacity to respect this.”
American model Gigi Hadid has expressed her wish for her daughter Khai to have a life free from “the stress of the media circus that comes with parents who are public figures”. She has never publicly revealed her daughter’s face.
Karachi-based makeup artist Natasha Ali Lakhani always makes sure that pictures of her daughter’s face are covered with a sticker. “For all those that keep commenting on why I hide her face understand this, from nazar [evil eye], to security reasons to the fact that I am not comfortable sharing pictures of my child or any child on my very public 1 million plus social media platform,” Lakhani wrote on Instagram in 2022.
