‘Disgusting, evil and gross’ — Social media slams US president’s AI-generated vision of ‘Trump Gaza’

Even Trump supporters denounced the post and asked him to focus on America instead.
26 Feb, 2025

One has come to expect the unexpected from US President Donald Trump. However, his latest social media post, an AI-generated video of “Trump Gaza”, crosses all boundaries of depravity.

The vile video was posted to the incumbent US president’s Instagram and to his own social media platform, Truth Social. The video shows artificially generated clips of Gaza and questions “What Next?” and as thumping beats play in the background, the video transforms into a Trump utopia, signalling the president’s plans for Gaza.

The video shows Gaza become something of a beach resort, with Elon Musk (because of course Trump’s right-hand tech billionaire bestie must be in the video) eating hummus on the beach and dancing as money rains down on him. What a perfect depiction, for Musk truly brings nothing to the table except his wealth.

It shows clubs, parties, and resorts but the most dystopian and undeniably cringeworthy aspect is a massive golden statue of Trump himself. The video goes on to show a store filled with varying sizes of golden Trump statutes, a hotel called Trump Gaza and children carrying golden balloons shaped like the president’s (large) head.

In Trump’s totalitarian, nightmarish vision of Gaza, he pictures himself as a God-like creature, the saviour of Gaza, one to be revered. But as he daydreams of erecting his statues in an already occupied territory, facing what Amnesty International called a genocide, he should ponder if this is a modern-day version of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi regime disseminating its ideology through the display of Nazi symbols.

The video — the gift that truly keeps on giving — also shows scantily clad women dancing on the beach, but because it is AI-generated the women are bearded. The irony of the Trump administration’s strict anti-trans policies coupled with bearded dancing women is likely lost on Trump and his cronies. Perhaps after taking over Gaza, Trump plans on letting trans people have more rights there? We sincerely doubt it.

Needless to say, the internet is disgusted by Trump’s latest move. Many denounced the video and one Instagram user rightfully said, “Gaza belongs to the Palestinians, not some weird Trump fantasy”.

‘Disgusting, evil and gross’

One X (formerly Twitter) user said, “Every hour there is a new bottom to reach for Trump. It’s disgusting, evil and gross.” The user concluded their post with a hashtag for the 25th Amendment, which in the US Constitution addresses issues related to presidential succession and disability.

Nebraska State Senator Megan Hunt, in two extremely well-worded tweets, said, “Trump’s proposition for the US to seize control of the Gaza Strip, forcibly displace Palestinian residents, and redevelop the area into a luxury destination is a reckless affront to international law, human rights and the foundational principles of justice and sovereignty.”

Hunt added that Trump saw Gaza not as a home to millions of humans but as an empty plot of land for his next project. “The lives of Palestinians mean nothing to him — they are simply an obstacle to be bulldozed over for casinos, golf courses, and beachfront resorts.”

Other netizens called it a “sad moment”, “absolutely abhorrent”, and said his latest antic had left them speechless.

Social media users, who are used to seeing the most unhinged things on a daily basis, were stumped by the video and questioned how it could be real. One X user wondered if they were dreaming, adding that they were “ready to wakeup whenever”.

‘Deranged’ and ‘insane’

An X user called the video a “deranged AI snuff film glorifying the genocide in Palestine with the US stealing Gaza and colonising it with Trump statues and hotels.”

Another netizen highlighted that in the long list of vile things Trump said and did, the video about Gaza “might be the gold medal winner”.

An X user maintained that the video was proof that Trump did not care about his people and would always be a “wannabe dictator”.

One X user said, “Trump is casually letting us know that American taxpayers will pay over a trillion dollars to clean up and rebuild Gaza, and Trump, Musk and Netanyahu will be the ones who financially benefit.”

Another person dubbed Trump “insane”, adding that “40,000 people had to die in Gaza so Trump could post this bonkers video.”

‘Focus on America, not Gaza’

Surprisingly, MAGA supporters were also upset with Trump over the video. Not because they care about Gaza, but because of their concerns about the US and its taxpayer money. Several Instagram users commented on Trump’s post and asked him to “focus on America”.

Those who voted for Trump felt “betrayed” because they were operating under the assumption that he would keep the US out of “global conflict”. That’s an interesting notion because when has the US, under either a Republican or Democratic administration, kept out of global conflict?

Another Trump supporter said this was not what they voted for and highlighted the “lots of weird, questionable stuff this time around from Trump” — as if his last term wasn’t weird and questionable.

On X, a netizen said the video made Trump look like “a pawn for Israel”, adding that the video was not a good look for the president. To this we ask, is anything a good look for him? His previous actions aren’t what we would describe as a “good look” either.

Dear readers, don’t get anything mixed up. A “Trump Gaza” would in no way benefit the people of Gaza. Trump’s video showed a clip of him and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in shorts, sipping drinks on the coast of Gaza. Not a sight one wants to see on a Wednesday morning, or ever, but Trump’s message is loud and clear: he is supporting Bibi’s destruction and massacring of civilians over the innocent Gazan lives.

Let’s not forget, Trump is a businessman first and foremost who has historically favoured himself above everyone and everything else, America included. The part where Gazans are displaced and killed fits in perfectly with Netanyahu’s own plans, so why wouldn’t Trump sip drinks with Bibi on the beach in his fictional world?

Trump’s antics might no longer surprise us, but they should scare us deeply. Now more than ever, Gaza is in dire need of our support and for world leaders to condemn this joke of a video.

In the words of Palestinian poet Mosab Abu Toha, “Palestinians do not need President Trump to talk about Gaza as if it were an empty hotel room that needs redesigning. What we need is for the rest of the world to hear about Gaza’s basic, immediate necessities […] And the people who shape this future need to be us Palestinians — not the people who made Gaza look like a demolition site, or who now seem to think that an entire people should be demolished, too.”

at this point, I feel the people of Gaza should leave, it's inhuman what the west did to them, but it's over. No one should live like this.... many nations get occupied. Look at Afghanistan, it's occupied today by people who are not represented by the afghani peoples wishes. Israel has won, please don't allow the suffering to go on... It's over for the cause. The Palestinians have no power left.

The problem isn't Trump. He's been like this for decades, and the emotion-driven little boy inside him will never change. --- The problem are the members of his celebrity-worship-driven political base. Electronic media is their addiction. Intellectually, they are as deep as a film of dried mouse pee. Social media, Web videos and heroic rallies give them a way to link themselves to a seemingly-colossal figure. That linkage "saves" them from a humdrum life and they adore the celebrity for it. --- Trump's second term in the White House is precisely the means for him to destroy that political alliance. He's too stupid to realize he's doing it, and his base will eventually realize that they are being laughed at by a majority of centrist, old-school Americans. The "children" inside them might eventually fragment into a violent Sixties-type rebellion.

I hope this would solve the Middle East Issue permanently. Gaza will flourish once the muslims would be resettled in other countries.

As an American, If this can be achieved without bloodshed or deaths of our soldiers, I’m up for it. Also, the Gazans must be fully reimbursed if they are to be rehabilitated elsewhere. This may seem outrageous to many but it may be the only solution to long lasting peace in the middle east.

You have to give it to the president of the free world, he never disappoints when it comes to challenging the boundaries of imagination... As for whatever puts an end to this decades old conflict - I say erase the name off the world map and name it completely different, let's pretend like no one ever lived there before... It has happened to many native civilisations before, occupation and rebuilding is in the genetic code of human history. Why are we acting so shocked now?

@Gurpreet Singh "Rehabilitated"? Why do the Gazans need to be rehabilitated? For what reason? Are they ill? Criminals? What are they to be rehabilitated for? Also why "elsewhere"? Gaza is their land. That's where they will live. As they have this far. It is clear this war was an agenda to remove the Gazans, empty Gaza and take over it. Gaza belongs to Gazans. Not Trump, or Israel or others.

@Laila - Rehabilitation doesn’t only have to be for criminals, its meaning is to restore someone to a better condition. And I’m saying that this should only be done if its done with comsensus from Gazans. If they don’t agree to it, its a no go. One thing is for sure that until there’s a permanent solution, that place will keep burning like it has for 77 years and more innocent people will keep dying.

@Gurpreet Singh Whilst I agree with your last point on a permanent solution, I still don't know why Gazans need to be rehabilitated. Restore to what better condition? Look at their condition and what they are going through? Or Israel could just stop bombing and get to Hamas without causing mass casualties.
