The match saw the green shirts crumble as the US clinched a final-over thriller after going to a super over. Pakistan fell short of meeting the 19-run target.

The match began with the US reducing the 2009 T20 World Cup winners to 26-3 after winning the toss — talk about a domino effect. The Pakistani team was held to a total of 159-7. The US levelled that score in the last ball of the 20th over, leading to a super over that spelled Pakistan’s doom.

Cricket fans are not taking the loss lightly. Many have taken to X to air their grievances while others are sharing memes about the unnecessarily dramatic game.
