American rapper Macklemore’s new song ‘Hind’s Hall’ has soared across various Billboard charts, making it one of his biggest hits of all time. The song has not only established his stronghold in the music industry but also elevated him as one of the most revolutionary artists of our time, especially when celebrated artists like Taylor Swift and Drake are being called out for repeatedly ignoring Israel’s massacre of Palestinians.

According to Forbes, ‘Hind’s Hall’ has reached high rankings on three major Billboard charts, marking a significant win for the Grammy Award-winning artist.

Since its release, the song has become an anthem for pro-Palestine protests with social media users also adopting it for pro-Palestine content on TikTok and Instagram. It’s been getting an additional push after Macklemore promised to donate all proceeds from ‘Hind’s Hall’ to Palestinian refugees through the UNRWA.

Macklemore is the first white, Grammy-winning artist to come out with a track specifically dedicated to the Palestinian cause. Through his song, he boldly calls out Biden for his policies that have led to US tax dollars funding Israel’s war on Gaza, and fellow artists for their “complicit” silence amid the massacre. The track also takes a dig at Meta and commends students protesting for a free Palestine.

On the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart, ‘Hind’s Hall’ premiered at an impressive number 7. The milestone marks the second time Macklemore has reached the top 10 on this purchase-only list without his former collaborator, Ryan Lewis.

Additionally, ‘Hind’s Hall’ soared to the top of the Rap Digital Song Sales chart, debuting at number 2. This chart is dedicated to the best-selling rap tracks in the United States.

Although he narrowly missed clinching the number 1 spot, which remains occupied by Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us,’ Macklemore’s near-top position is a testament to the song’s popularity. It also underscores the need for more politically charged music that is not propagandist in nature — music that condemns Israel’s assault on Gaza and world leaders’ silence or ambivalence on the matter.

‘Hind’s Hall’ also debuted at number 3 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart. This list encompasses rap, hip-hop, and R&B tracks.

Back in the day, the rapper rose to global stardom with ‘Thrift Shop’ after collaborating with producer Ryan Lewis as the duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. The song, featuring Wanz, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2013 — the first song since 1994 to top the Hot 100 chart without the support of a major record label.

Their second single, ‘Can’t Hold Us’, also peaked at number one on the Hot 100 chart, making Macklemore and Lewis the first duo in the chart’s history to have their first two singles both reach the peak position.
