Exciting news for Ishq Murshid fans: the finale of HUM TV’s hit series will be screened in cinemas across Pakistan! The theatrical release is scheduled for May 3.

According to an Instagram post by the channel, the final episode of the drama will be playing in multiple cinemas in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sargodha, Jehlum, Quetta, Sahiwal, Burewala and Mandi Bahauddin (WOW, that’s a lot of cities!).

The show quickly gained immense popularity across the globe — not just in Pakistan — and garnered millions of views on YouTube, with the first episode alone amassing over 63 million views.

Ishq Murshid, which stars Durefishan Saleem and Bilal Abbas Khan in the lead roles, “revolves around the story of two individuals from different backgrounds, brought together by destiny, as they face countless challenges in the name of love,” HUM TV detailed.

The protagonist, Shahmeer (played by Abbas Khan), is the estranged son of a rich politician and falls in love with Shibra (portrayed by Saleem), who hails from a middle-class background and supports victims of injustice and political exploitations. Shameer pretends to be an office clerk to win her over because of her disdain for the elite.

The show is written by Abdul Khaliq Khan and Imran Ashraf, and directed by Farooq Rind. The cast includes Omair Rana, Zarmeena Ikram, Samiya Mumtaz, Noor ul Hassan, Salma Hassan, Hafsa Ehsan Abbasi, Sajjad Paul, Rabia Noreen, Awais Sulaman, Shabbir Jan, Hira Tareen, Adnan Jaffar and Sajid Shah.

In the past, several popular dramas have aired their finales on the big screen: ARY Digital’s Sinf-e-Ahn and Meray Paas Tum Ho, as well as HUM TV’s Parizaad (with the cast attending the theatrical release).

It is a flop idea. You have already dragged this drama to the max, no point in this at all. There is no suspense or story left in it.

Good idea, however I have my reservations of the demand and revenue tone generated in so many cities where this can be watched on TV and YouTube. Are people willing to spend? Fingers crossed

The second last episode was dull to its core.Very poor and tepid writing with listless dialogues.Shibra father was killed without any reason and there was not a semblance of any drama in any scene which would hit hard the audience. I wonder who would spent so much money and time to watch a 35 minutes episode in theatres.

The problem in our TV and Films productions is most artists comes from same families again and again where as talented artists around the country are never been searched due to these family businesses of old artists such as Javed Sheikh and Bushra Ansari and many more ruling generation after generations on TV and Films.

No use of showing the last episode in cinema, drama is not a hit ,only the song is good. Hero is a flop politician knows everything and is playing in the hands of another person. He is not using his brain..going to cinema is a waste of time and money
