What’s going on between former bandmates Goher Mumtaz and Farhan Saeed?
What happens when former band members begin stirring up some drama in public? Everyone becomes unwilling but interested silent spectators. That’s what’s been happening on Instagram between former Jal bandmates Goher Mumtaz and Farhan Saeed.
First came Mumtaz’s interview for Freebird Music where he claimed Saeed wanted to be Atif Aslam. He also had some not so nice things to say about Saeed’s talent and skills.
For the unversed, Mumtaz and Saeed used to be part of Jal The Band, of which Aslam was also famously a member. The band was begun by Mumtaz and Aslam and after the latter’s departure, Saeed was brought on as the vocalist. He left in 2011.
Well, it seems Mumtaz isn’t over it. After his interview to Freebird, Saeed posted a seemingly innocuous video to his page of him singing at a concert and captioned it “my average life, I love you all”.
Mumtaz then shared a lengthy comment on his Instagram story in which he went after Saeed and tagged him.
“You were hired in Jal The Band to sing ‘Aadat’ as a replacement… at that time you were not confident, out of tune to sing ‘Aadat’…nothing more than that [sic],” he wrote.
He snidely claimed that Saeed uploaded the video to “show off” and said he was “still out of tune in these clips”.
“Love you and your fans too… wo bhi ‘all’ [that too, ‘all’ of them].”
We don’t know what’s going on here and why Mumtaz has suddenly decided to say all this, but this is literally us right now.
Saeed hasn’t responded to any of Mumtaz’s Instagram posts yet and honestly, we’re waiting on tenterhooks to see if he does.
