A rape and sex trafficking case filed by American singer Cassie (Casandra Ventura) against music producer Sean “Diddy” Combs was settled on Friday, a day after it was filed.

The settlement was announced through a statement by Cassie’s attorney, Douglas Wigdor. The agreement, described as satisfactory to both parties, did not disclose specific terms, and no further comments were expected beyond those provided by Cassie, Diddy, and Wigdor.

Cassie, who dated Diddy for approximately 11 years before their 2018 breakup, filed a sex trafficking and sexual assault lawsuit on November 17 in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. The complaint, as reported by the Los Angeles Times, outlined serious accusations against Diddy, including rape, physical assault, coercive behaviour, and involvement in a lifestyle of substance abuse. The lawsuit contended that Diddy, her former boss at Bad Boy Records, manipulated her into a tumultuous romantic relationship.

She alleged that the producer raped and beat her over the course of their relationship, beginning from when she was 19 and he was 37.

In her statement, Cassie said, “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, reported The LA Times, vehemently denied the allegations on Nov 16. Brafman accused Cassie of persistently seeking over $30 million from Diddy for the past six months. He described the lawsuit as filled with “baseless and outrageous lies” aimed at tarnishing Diddy’s reputation and seeking financial gain.
