Romaisa Khan asks people to ‘learn how to act’ after nurses ask her for selfies while mother is in ICU
TikTok star turned actor Romaisa Khan recently narrated a strange experience she had at a hospital that highlights the inhumane way people treat public figures.
In a Thread on Friday, Khan spoke about her mother being in the ICU and nurses taking videos of her and asking her for selfies while she was crying and praying for her recovery. “[At] events or in malls, [you’re] most welcome [to ask] but in such sensitive situations, please learn how to act,” she wrote.
In a second comment she shared a happier update — that her mother is doing better. Someone then commented something even more insensitive, to which Khan was speechless. We are too.
The person said that even if her mother was in the ICU, she would tell her not to “ruin someone’s happy moment” and “give them some time”. The entitlement here is real because who in the world thinks like this?
We understand that meeting public figures is a big deal for a lot of people, especially if they’re fans, but that doesn’t mean you’re entitled to a picture or their time. That goes double if they’re at a hospital!
The nurses who were taking pictures of Khan and asking her for selfies while she was crying about her mother’s condition are incredibly unprofessional and need to be reprimanded. Just because you’re a fan doesn’t mean you have the right to intrude on someone else’s life, especially at a trying time.
Give public figures some space to breathe!
