Korean actor Song Joong Ki and wife welcome baby boy in Italy
Korean actor Song Joong Ki’s agency, High Zium Studio, announced on Wednesday evening the birth of the actor’s baby boy, stating that the child was born in Italy.
The star of the upcoming film Hwaran took to his official fancafe, an online site for fans, to announce the birth of his son to his followers. The announcement was accompanied by a photo of Song’s son holding his finger. The actor included a letter dedicated to his fans in which he reassured them that both mother and baby were healthy, stating that his son was “the most precious gift” and that the experience was like a dream.
Song also confirmed that he will return soon with a new project, much to the relief of fans, and expressed his gratitude to them for their “sincere love.”
Over the years, the actor has gained a huge fandom for his iconic roles starting with his acting debut in 2008 in the period piece A Frozen Flower. Taking on small roles in shows over the following years, the actor was catapulted to stardom with his role in the historical drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal in 2010.
He has since released a best-selling health and beauty guide for men titled Beautiful Skin Project, starred in a TV special of his trip to Japan, featured in the hit K-drama Vincenzo and acted in many famous works including Deep Rooted Trees, A Werewolf Boy, The Innocent Man, Descendants of the Sun, Reborn Rich and many, many more masterpieces.
Song’s fans, known as the Ki Aile, reflected his affection by taking to social media to congratulate the couple with sweet, heartfelt messages.
Song Joong Ki first shared that he and his then girlfriend were expecting a baby in January of this year when he took to his fancafe to announce his marriage to the mother of his child, Katy Louise Saunders. In a letter to his fans he stated that, “I have promised to continue my life together with Katy Louise Saunders” and added that the couple had “dreamed of creating a happy family together.”
This is the actor’s second marriage after he divorced his Descendants of the Sun co-star Song Hye-Kyo in 2019.
