Going loco for local: Scents n Stories’ Florse may end your search for long-lasting perfume

Make an impression in any room you enter with this citrusy and floral scent.

Spritzing some of Scents n Stories’ Florse perfume in the office derived similar reactions from people who entered the room or smelt it for the first time — of something pleasant in the air. You get an instant hit of freshness from the citrusy orange top notes and then the smell cooks, turning floral, the peonies in the top notes coming to life.

Mull over for a little more and the smell gets rosey. Leave it on all day — or at least around 12 hours, like I did — and the patchouli and sandalwood from the base notes will make themselves known. But to highlight, the longevity of this perfume is insane. It stuck to me like a shadow, maybe even more loyal than a shadow since even shadows disappear. Florse will stay with you throughout the day — its scent may get fainter but it will make itself known.

Personally, I feel like this was a very strong scent that would probably suit a nighttime occasion. If I were to use it in the day, I would extend my arm and hold it away from my body before lightly spritzing it. The fragrance is also kind of familiar, it reminded us of Marc Jacob’s Perfect at first sniff. But the price range is also worth noting here — Perfect costs Rs43,000 while Scents n Stories’ perfumes are mostly under Rs1,000. The 50ml Florse perfume retails at Rs1,490 on the Scents n Stories website while the 100ml is for Rs2,620.

When trying it, the half of us with sensitive skin felt a slight tingling sensation on our wrists that lasted a few seconds and eventually disappeared while the other half with normal skin didn’t. Taking this into consideration, I would advise people with sensitive skin to do a patch test before spritzing this all over.

Scents n Stories has a great variety of scents on their website with many categories to help you choose, such as gender, genre, time, season, type and more. I’m not big on perfumes myself but I feel like people who appreciate heavier and floral scents may quite like this.
