It seems the past month has been full of singers scolding people attending their concerts for misbehaving. The latest singer to enter the lineup is Asim Azhar, who gave a group of people attending his concert in Islamabad a stern talking to from stage.

Galaxy Lollywood had shared a clip of the incident, which prompted the singer to clarify and say he can't tolerate families being "disturbed or harassed." The video clip was originally shared by Instagram user RealWaleedSandhu.

Azhar posted an explanation on his Instagram Stories on Jan 3 on why he lashed out at the group. "I don't usually share stuff like this but whoever has come to a concert of mine knows that we tolerate anything but families being disturbed or harassed," the 'Jo Tu Na Mila' singer wrote.

He explained that the person he was addressing during his concert and his friends didn't say anything to him directly but were "openly drinking and making a family very uncomfortable." He also highlighted that it is the duty of the artist to to make sure the crowd that comes to their shows are "safe and comfortable."

Many people commented under the video posted by the social media page and claimed it was a publicity stunt, to which Azhar retorted that they carry can on with their thoughts and he will continue calling out people. “Uper se sab nazar aata hai. Aur mujhe kuch zyada hi [One can see everything from above, and I can see a lot more],” he said.

Previously musicians Aima Baig and Young Stunners’ Talha Anjum also took a stand against people in the crowd who chose to misbehave. Whether it's a publicity stunt or not, we're glad artists are calling out people who misbehave and taking action.

In the 70s and 80s, I have experienced in Germany many rock bands and singers like Pink Floyd, ABBA, Bob Marley, Adriano Celentano, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Love Parade in Berlin, etc. The concerts were attended by tens of thousands of CIVILIZED, SERENE & PEACEFUL young girls and boys! It is the secular, ethical, areligious, and mixed-gender education that makes the qualitative difference!!!

Unfortunately this is a global problem. In response to reports that 40% of women/girls are subjected to some formm of harassment at concerts the UN launched a program called "Safe Spaces Now". It is important to have a balnaced debate about this in a global context, and not just paint this as Pakistani only problem.

Educate both boys and girls equally and teach them what students across the world are learning.

@mesotwisty educate girls for what?it's the boys who act rowdily and it's the girls who are the target of harrassment at concerts, the answer is setting ground rules for boys at the events and the security taking action at violations
