Actor Zainab Qayyum thinks we've ‘misunderstood’ Hum Kahan ke Sachay Thay as its 'pace matches its genre'
Actor Zainab Qayyum, also known as ZQ, wants you to know that Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay is not as bad as you think it is. She can be seen in the drama serial as Shagufta, mother to antagonist Mashal (Kubra Khan).
In a series of tweets, fans argued whether or not the Mahira Khan starrer is worth their time due to its emotional yet slow pace throughout the 17 episodes released so far.
A Twitter user shared how her mother narrated the storyline of Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay to her and she couldn’t figure out why everyone was still watching it.
In response, ZQ left a laughing emoji. People then wanted to know her opinion about the show. The actor responded that some people “misunderstood” the drama and that the “pace matches its genre.”
Some of her fans even lauded her performance in the latest episode (which was definitely a rollercoaster ride).
Many fans of the star-studded cast have been complaining about the drama being slow, missing out on the basics and glorifying toxicity. People have been expecting a change of events, however, the show is still stuck between being about a family looking for the truth and a depiction of an abusive marriage.
Avid followers of the drama took the recent episode into consideration and shared their thoughts on social media.
Some even made memes about specific scenes from the drama, and it’s exactly what you need to see if you’re sad about the show.
A majority have been complaining about the typical representation and have compared it to Umera Ahmed’s previous work. Due to multiple projects airing at the same time, fans of the writer expected to see a difference between her work, but sadly, they felt let down.
A netizen questioned Ahmed and asked the purpose of showing Mehreen (Mahira Khan) as a strong-headed woman in the beginning when she is bound to end up with an oppressive husband.
Another questioned the TV channel for not knowing how to film a suspenseful drama.
Despite the criticism the show is receiving online, many people still seem to really like it. While some Twitter users might complain about the drama serial, we can’t deny the fact that the majority of us still watch the new episodes every weekend in hopes of seeing something changing in the show.
