The Matrix 4 gives a first look at Keanu Reeves as Neo on its innovative new website
The Matrix 4 launched an innovative website that allows viewers to watch teasers of the upcoming film, the latest instalment in the Matrix franchise.
At WhatIsTheMatrix.com viewers are asked to choose between the red and blue pills visible on screen. By clicking either pill, viewers get to see different teasers showing actor Keanu Reeves as Neo alongside other characters. The red and blue pills are a reference to 1999's The Matrix in which Neo is presented with the same choice. Take the red bill and you choose to learn an unsettling and life changing truth. Take the blue pill and you choose to remain content with reality as it is.
Actor Carrie-Anne Moss will return as Trinity alongside Reeves. Other members of the cast include Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Priyanka Chopra, Neil Patrick Harris and Jessica Henwick.
This innovative first look comes ahead of the trailer due to premiere on September 9. Chopra and other cast members took to Instagram to announce the release date of the upcoming trailer.
The Matrix 4 has been co-written, directed and produced by Lana Wachowski, who co-created The Matrix, and Lilly Wachowski.
