Pakistan learnt on Tuesday morning of the tragic and sudden passing of ace musician Farhad Humayun. The news was announced on his old band, Overload's official Facebook page.

As news of the tragedy spread, celebrities began reacting to the loss.

Musician, activist and academic Taimur Rahman published a tweet to commemorate the musician's passing. Humayun was also his cousin.

YouTuber and musician Taimoor Salahuddin, popularly known as Mooroo, called Hymayun his musical hero. "I grew up listening to Overload, being inspired, electrified and entranced by it," he said, declaring him the king of all drummers.

Actor Adnan Siddiqui said he was "shook" following the death. "A young, talented life snatched by the cruel hands of fate way too soon," he said, regretting life's fragility.

Calling the late musician "kamaal", singer Abbas Ali Khan also sent sent out a tweet in tribute.

Fashion designer HSY was distraught by the news. "This feels so unreal," he said. He said he saw talent in his fan early on and described his admiration for him and his work. He called Humayun's passing a huge loss.

RJ Anoushey Ashraf also shared her reaction to Humayun's passing.

Actor Mikaal Zulfiqar said he was gone too soon.

Shahbaz Taseer, son of former Punjab chief minister Salman Taseer, tweeted in remembrance of his friend.

Journalist Shiraz Hassan noted how good a drummer Humayun was.

Fiza Farhan announced her shock and disappointment at the news, saying he was "an amazing human being, a kind soul and a true rockstar."

Humayun was an incredible musician, a once in a generation sound that Pakistan's younger millennials grew up listening to. With Overload, Humayun achieved not only great fame but also a loyal fan following. The musician's passing has sent shockwaves and a sad realisation to all these fans.
