Waqar Zaka is working with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government as an 'expert' on cryptocurrency

The reality TV show host made the announcement on Twitter, though falsely claiming he's working with the federal government.
17 May, 2021

Waqar Zaka, the most relevant irrelevant man in Pakistan, revealed on Twitter that he's working with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on its crypto ambitions. Appointed a cryptocurrency expert on an advisory committee on digital assets, the Living on the Edge host will be providing his services for free.

The expert has become synonymous with the word 'crypto' in Pakistan, uploading fiery videos promoting the digital asset as, at times, the solution to all of Pakistan's woes. Somewhere between reacting to ridiculous TikToks and swearing at government officials, Zaka has put together an army of followers, paying to be a part of his private Facebook group, where he allegedly gives away the secrets to crypto success.

The announcement was made on social media, in which Zaka said, "I have decided not to charge a single penny and I will provide all my services for free."

There were indeed a few things in Zaka's statement that raised question. Firstly, he claimed to be working with the Government of Pakistan, when the notification he uploaded clearly says Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Secondly, the date on the document is two months old and was issued in February. People were quick to call out these inconsistencies and some even doubted the authenticity of Zaka's claim.

In an announcement, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board announced that the first KP Crypto Advisory Committee meeting was held, chaired by Ziaullah Bangash and Finance Minister Taimur Jhagra. During the meeting, several sub-committees were set up to begin work on the project. The communique listed Waqar 'Zakya' as part of the committee, in the capacity of a technical expert.

Bangash, who was the KP CM's adviser on science and information technology at the time the notification was issued, has since resigned, citing "personal and unavoidable circumstances".

The State Bank of Pakistan declares "Virtual Currencies (VCs) ....are not legal tender, issued or guaranteed by the Government of Pakistan. SBP has not authorized or licensed any individual or entity for the issuance, sale, purchase, exchange or investment in any such Virtual Currencies/Coins/Tokens in Pakistan." Furthermore is states, "...In view of the foregoing, all Banks/ DFIs/ Microfinance Banks and Payment System Operators (PSOs)/Payment Service Providers (PSPs) are advised to refrain from processing, using, trading, holding, transferring value, promoting and investing in Virtual Currencies/Tokens." So how is the government of KPK and/or Waqar Zaka operating in crypto aka virtual currency(ies). Is this action not illegal or is everything illegal somehow legal in KPK?

Simply pathetic is KP govt is consulting Waqar Zaka for crypto currency. No way, any govt money can be invested in these crypto currency as it is illegal under the law being purely speculative investment. And Waqar Zaka has no technical back ground if KP govt is planning to launch any crypto currency. Another car running on water. I am a PTI voter who travelled 600km in election day to vote for PTI in my home town and this is all we get?

If anyone (ANYONE) can say that they know the trade secrets of how any market moves let alone crypto, they are lying. They can just see trends and forecast which can go either way, they cannot say for certain where market is going. FX trade is $7T a day crypto whole market is now less then $2T. If you follow his twitter only a few day back he was saying to go long then it crashed so he deleted the tweet. When he gets it right he posts it. There is no shortcut to getting rich except through dedication and hard work, even it is trading. Goldman Sachs new traders were complaining about work hours that were around 18hrs (yes 18) hence they make a lot of money and hence the term work hard and play hard.

Waqa Zaka is helping & educating many Pakistani on Crypto Currencies. I joined his group couple of months back and find it very useful. I believe Crypto currency is the future and Pakistan should take advantage of it sooner by allowing citizens to trade in and launch own crypto currency. In next 2 to 3 years, you will witness every major consumer business will launch their own crypto currency and make it legal tender to service consumers.

How can anyone use this, this, snake abuser's name in the same sentence as the word expert? Do we not have video evidence that he should be tried for animal rights violations... Anyways if someone really has any faith in crypto, they deserve to get scammed! This guy will work "free of charge" but will make millions on insider information creating waves getting first in, first out getting an already impoverished government stuck in an industry facing potential for massive collapse... BTC is down more than 20% along with the rest of the industry, and there is a 50% hole awaiting the next few days... Anyways best of luck KPK "Government!"

Moreover, anyone willing to invest a Rupee in crypto should simply just request a documented that is the verified proof of financial valuation of that particular crypto... See if one exists? Then try to learn about cash out options... Read on the internet about how shady it is and the various massive scams run through duping people into crypto... The ongoing investigation into Tether Inc. (a company claimed to back $1/1unit of tether and investigated to yield to hold 2.3cents per tether, used to purchase bitcoin in the amount of $1 to equal 1 tether and blow its price up just before the bubble pop). You want to find out what crypto really is...do it very very thoroughly before you exchange real cash for some form of "fairy-dust!"
