Loud cheers, passion for Pakistan, synchronised chants and an ecstatic awaam — HBL PSL 2020 brought cricket back home.
The final — one of the most anticipated given the rivalry between the country's two biggest cities — was played after a gap of nearly eight months after the PSL's fifth edition came to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.
What was supposed to be a packed closing ceremony at the National Stadium Karachi, became an isolated sit-at-home event during the pandemic.
While some enjoyed the lights show and fireworks from their vicinity in Karsaz, others were just glad that they no longer had to complain about the roadblocks, traffic jams and the inconvenience the logistics caused.
Either way, the Pakistan Super League was a much-needed distraction during a year which has otherwise been overshadowed by Covid-19.
