Amir Khan and his family were involved in a car crash on a UK motorway after the boxer lost control of his vehicle on the wet surface and crashed it into a barrier.

The boxer recalled the incident like "being hit with a combo".

The 33-year-old former boxing world champion, who was accompanied by his wife Faryal Makhdoom and daughter Lamaisah, fortunately escaped injury after the car did a 360 on the southbound carriageway of the motorway.

According to Khan, the family was headed to London for a TV show.

Posting images on social media of the aftermath of the collision, he informed his fans that no one was hurt.

"Alhamdulillah everyone's safe. Lamaisah was asleep at the time in the back of the car but she's okay. Faryal was sitting in the front with me, she's okay too. More shocked than anything, the car looks very bad — the front, sides back are all damaged. The car literally did a 360," he said, describing the incident.

"But I'm glad that everyone's safe — we just have to get on with our normal days now and get home," the champ added.

However, this is not the first time the boxer has found himself in an accident. Previously, in 2007, he was convicted of careless driving and given a six-month ban including a fine of £1,000 after he accidentally mowed down and injured a pedestrian who was using a pelican crossing, according to the Daily Mail.

The next year, he was again fined and banned from the roads for 42 days after being accused of speeding at the motorway. In 2009, he was accused of being involved in a crash with a young cyclist. However, no action was taken as the police concluded no one was to blame.

Khan is known for his love for luxury cars and his collection includes a £271,000 Lamborghini Aventador, a £233,000 Rolls Royce Phantom and a £65,000 Range Rover.
