One Direction wax statues removed from Madame Tussauds
Made by 20 craftsmen over the course of two months, One Direction's wax statues at Madame Tussauds made headlines, immediately mobbed by adoring fans when first revealed in 2013.
However, since the band going on an indefinite hiatus and the boys parting to go their solo ways; seems like the statues no longer represent teamwork and so, are being taken down.
Grace Cadden, who previously handed tissues to emotional visitors and crying fans at the central London attraction when Zayn first left the band, reportedly said, "the One Direction figures are some of the most popular in the attraction, and they have been since they arrived."
Harry Styles, 26, Liam Payne, 27, Niall Horan, 26, Louis Tomlinson, 28, and Zayn Malik, 27, formed One Direction in 2010 on the X Factor when Simon Cowell paired them up together.
Madame Tussauds lays claim to the biggest celebrity wax figure collection in the world.
Notorious for turning the world's most successful stars into statues, the popular museum chain is famous among fans and tourists eager to pose with their favourites.
