Meera is finally back from New York

The Baaji actor had been stuck there due to Covid-19 travel restrictions but is now back in Pakistan
Updated 13 May, 2020

After being stuck in New York, Meera has made her way home to Pakistan.

The actor shared the news of her return on her Instagram with a video from the airport.

A photo posted by Instagram (@instagram) on

"I am so happy to be returning," says Meera in the video, which according to her is a "special shout-out to the Pakistani embassy and Pakistani consulate, both in Washington DC and NYC."

"I just want to say there is so much propaganda against the government. Please [stop]."

She added, "These people go out of the way to help you and they went out of their way to help Pakistanis including me and that I witnessed."

Well, we're glad that stranded Pakistanis are making their way home and we're just as happy for Meera! The actor will now be completing 15 days in quarantine before heading to her own home to continue self-isolation.

She is rich and can afford the return ticket from US to Pakistan . All US citizens who were stranded in Pakistan due to flight cancellations reimbursed the US govt $1400 a person to return home, which was double the regular fair. Why a poor country like Pakistan has to foot the bill for returning Pakistanis from US. Pakistan govt should ask these passengers to pay for repatriation and quarantine costs. She should be thankful to Pakistan for arranging the flight.

Only because your famous in Pakistan you get special treatment. Wouldn't be the same for average Pakistani.

Why do some people think celebrities or non celebrities are brought back for free? They still have to pay. This as about logistics as well. People have to pay to come back. Its not a free ride.. Stop blaming Meera.
