Meera asks PM Imran Khan to help her return to Pakistan

I don't want to die in a foreign country, said the Baaji actor.
Updated 23 Apr, 2020

Like the Ishrat Made in China cast and crew, there are many stranded in a different country.

Another celebrity is Meera, who had been on a trip to the United States when the spread of Covid-19 became the global pandemic it is today. Now, she is stuck in New York where the situation is severe.

In a video, the Baaji star makes a plea to the Prime Minister to help with her return.

"New York is becoming a graveyard," said Meera. "Every day, thousands are dying."

"I don't want to die in a foreign country."

According to Meera, PM Imran Khan has "always supported us artists".

"All countries are calling back their citizens. I request you that arrangements be made for my return to my country."

Previously, DC Islamabad had stated that after those stranded in Thailand were brought back home, around 30,000 more passengers were expected to come from different countries and that those "stranded were brought and the government paid for them."

Many people stuck in several countries. People who are stuck in different countries should volunteerly offer support to ailing airline by purchasing extra tickets and fund government for thier testing and qurantine facilities this will encourage government to arrange thier return

She is a citizen of Pakistan. Being a celebrity, she has every right to seek help from the PM. Why ridicule her for no reason instead of advocating for her assistance? She is a daughter of this land too, she is afraid, let's not make fun of her plight.

Everyone should stay where they are in isolation as much as possible. This virus or any other virus that is air bone has no boundaries.

It is really unfortunate to see the hatred and venom spewed against artists and celebrities in Pakistan, for no rhyme or reason. The sheer contempt thrown at them in the comments sections of digital media outlets raises alarm bells and is a testimony to our national character which seeks to undermine, belittle and target those affiliated with the arts and showbiz. Please ask yourself: What has Meera done to you to deserve such character assassination? How would you feel if you woke up to such hatred from people you do not even know, for no reason, whatsoever? On the topic: The PM should ensure her safe and timely return to Pakistan as a priority. Meera ji, best wishes and prayers for your well-being.

@Right Voice the decision was perfect to leave those students there. Look what happened when we brought back pilgrims from Iran. Be sensible not emotional.
