Mehwish Hayat thinks Michelle Obama would make a "wonderful president". Do you agree?

Replying to one of the former US First Lady's tweets, the Punjab Nahi Jaungi actot wrote, "I do so admire @MichelleObama and the work that she is doing with the @ObamaFoundation. I wonder has she thought about standing in the elections next year? I think she'd make such a wonderful President. What do you say USA?"

The video shared by Obama was from her recent visits to Vietnam and Malaysia (we also spotted Julia Roberts!) which she says were "filled with so many hopeful reminders of the power that lies in education".

The campaign is part of the Obama Foundation’s Girls Opportunity Alliance, which has teamed up with GoFundMe to encourage people around the world to take action in support of girls’ education.

I don’t think it’s a good idea for her to be the president . The nation is divided , we need someone who could unite the nation. There is fair majority of “people” who resented Black president and the First Lady in White House .. Mr. Trump is the result of their anger. Michelle is a very wise and charming personality she will not get into this mess

From her standpoint, this stance is understandable. However, this shows, not surprisingly though, complete lack of understanding of ground realities of US society and politics as it stands today.

White nationalism is still suffering from 8 years of Obama. The result is a painful 4 years of Trump coming to an end. Please spare us for another 50 some years. Thank you though for the idea.

Small mouth big talk. Even Mrs Obama consider giving a damn to an actor from a third world country suggesting her she would make a good president.

There isn't any colored President coming to power in the US in a considerable time now.

She will face 2 huge obstacles... she is of color and a woman! We have to clear our minds about Americans, they are still intellectually and emotionally immature.

Really! Now women qualify automatically for political posts on basis of being the spouse of a former head of state.

Not a chance. She may make a good candidate, but 8 years of the Obamas was enough.

Michelle Obama would be well advised to stay away from attemti g the presidency. She may be a strong lady, but the constant hail of nasty personal attacks, slander and innuendo would wear her down.

What does Mehwish Hayat know about running a country? She is only an actress, and so she should stick with what she knows. She should give an opinion on who should win the Oscars. Running a charity is one thing, running a government is totally another. She should leave the political opinions for those who know what it takes to run a state or federal government.

Certainly a noble thought. But the only minority female contender (Kamala Harris) ended up quitting the race recently, so Michelle Obama would have a pretty hard time securing the Democratic nomination let alone the Presidency. Michelle is, however, on the right track and has been so since her time as First Lady of the US. Her efforts are better spent elsewhere in the ‘charitable’ domain.

@david "definitely if Hillary can run then she should run too." Hillary was Senator for 12 years and also Secretary of State for 4 years. Michelle has no credentials.
