Mahira Khan is raising her voice for refugees around the world.

The actor was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador by the UNHCR in November. She joined the UN Refugee Agency and is now using her new position to speak up for the cause. And guess what? She has help.

In a video by UNHCR, Khan is joined by Hollywood icons as they call for people to stop stereotyping refugees and seeing them differently.

Mahira writes, "Every action counts. Every voice counts. We're proud to speak up for refugees everywhere. We all have a part to play in helping somebody else including me. What will yours be?"

The video includes Riz Ahmed, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ben Stiller, Cate Blanchett, Neil Gaiman, Jung Woo-sung and Yusra Mardini among others talking about the importance of raising awareness. The stars accept their influence and admit to using it to highlight the issue.

Previously, when appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador, Mahira had said, "Pakistan has set an example for the world where a country has hosted refugees for the last 40 years... this is one cause, because I feel so strongly about it, this is something that I want to talk about, especially as Pakistan's UNHCR National Goodwill Ambassador."

She had added, "This cause is not limited to a country, and should not be limited to a country. So I think first and foremost, there should be some sort of responsibility sharing."
