If your kid can doodle, he/she can also design a necklace.

Thanks to Jewellever, you can now turn your little ones' drawings into timeless baubles! The woman behind the adorable venture, Emen Iftikhar Kiani explains how her daughter, who's going through an artsy phase inspired her to start the business.

"I have 10,000 pictures of unicorns and 5000 doodles saying 'Mama I love you!' bursting out of my drawers and so while I want to save all of them, it's practically impossible! We were discussing how best to preserve them and jewellery was one idea so we decided to go ahead with it."

The pieces actually look like the doodles!

Here's how it works: you send the folks at Jewellever a loved piece of art or squiggles and ask them to turn that into an item of your choice such as a necklace or a ring. They consult their artisans and send the customer the cost. You pay a 50% advance when placing your order and within 3-5 working days, you get it delivered to your doorstep.

Currently, they offer three varieties of metals they use. "At the moment. we have metal alloy and silver and gold 18k is in the pipeline though we haven't launched it yet."

"Metal alloy is the least costly with affordable knick-knack rates, the only cost is of customising it; with silver, we are operating on a slightly higher side because here too, each piece is unique and is crafted for that particular customer as well as the cost of the material and the team of artisans working on it are specialised to ensure it's of the highest quality."

The price range is from anywhere to Rs1200 for earrings (metal) to a Rs6300 for a necklace with a sterling silver chain. We're thinking this could be the perfect Mother's Day gift!

While we thought it's affordably priced since it's personalised and real silver, Kiani did say the price was a point of contention for customers. "It's pure silver and then you need a unique machine to make a certain kind of cast for each individual piece so a lot of queries we get are about how much it costs. That said, I feel like once people purchase it and they start using our products, I think that's an issue that will resolve itself," she explained.
