21 Oct, 2018

Recent sexual harassment allegations against Anu Malik forced Sony Entertainment to take a step against the singer.

According to ANI, the Indian music director will not longer be apart of Indian Idol's jury panel.

"Anu Malik is no longer a part of Indian Idol jury panel. The show will continue its planned schedule & we'll invite some of the biggest names in Indian music as guests to join Vishal & Neha to judge extraordinary talent of Indian Idol season 10: Sony Entertainment Television #MeToo," read the tweet.

He was part of the show since it first aired in 2004.

In a tweet earlier this week, singer Shweta Pandit recalled an encounter she had with Anu Malik when she was 15 years old. "It has taken a lot in me to open up this wound again and speak up against this paedophile and sexual predator," she said.

This isn't the first time Anu Malik has faced such accusations. Singer Sona Mohapatra had also called Malik a "serial predator", a claim he had denied.

@Hari Agrawal .... If found guilty I'll you burn his music you may have is the question. There must be soooo many average musicians and actors that sit smugly on TV shows who have taken advantage of their position to abuse you vulnerable and at times poor youngsters there simply put will be. Take a stand support victims and punish perpetrators. His music is irrelevant right now unless he can prove his innocence.

@Hari Agrawal B.S. He just copies, some lousy sound tracks, that is all. He was sexual Predator right from his Bollywood days when Alish Chinai accused him in 1980's and took him to court. Well done ladies. This is a price catch.

Anu Malik should be locked up in prison for such acts when women are not safe around him.

They should have caught and ended his career after "dekho, baarish ho rahi hy, its raining, its raining".. Many of Malick's less-than-mediocre compilations were an insult to the music industry, however catchy they turned out to be eventually.
