Sharmeen Obaid announces new documentary Student Athlete
Sharmeen has co-directed the film about college athletes for HBO Sports

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy has announced her latest documentary work with the trailer of the film Student Athlete.
The film explores the billion dollar machinery behind college sports that makes big bucks for coaches and universities but makes the dreams of only a few come true.
"Don't even worry about getting an education. Just do what you need to do on the field," says an authoritative voice as the trailer for Student Athlete opens.
Sharmeen has co-directed the film Trish Dalton, with whom she spent two years investigating the college sports industry and the price players have to pay to be a part of it. The film is executive produced by NBA champion LeBron James.
Student Athlete will air on HBO Sports on October 2.
