Farhan Saeed released the music video for his new single 'Maula' ft Rishi Rich this week, and you’d best believe we watched it so you don’t have to.

Too harsh? Alright, sorry, let us try that again: Farhan Saeed just released the music video for his new single 'Maula' yesterday, and it’s got lots of interesting… material… we just don’t know if all it belongs together in one video.

As always, his video features him as the strapping young hero dealing with some snags in his love life. In terms of production, the video has some nice shots, the lighting and colouring feels fresher and the overall quality is what we’ve come to expect from Saeed, so kudos to director Adnan Qazi for that.

However, it falls short because the video jumps between so many scenarios that it gets confusing and genuinely makes us ask the question of whether the video has a story/plot that it’s following or whether these are just random, interesting/pretty shots put together to produce the video.

And that is honestly where the video disappoints most, because we felt that if the story-line was more clear, it would’ve done the production quality justice and helped it to stand out more.

Same goes for how the song and video pair-up; the beat and context of the song doesn’t go with the pace of the video (even the context of the video, but we’re used to seeing that from Saeed, so it’s cool).

Still, the beat follows the latest trend (and is reminiscent of some smooth Punjabi songs); the lyrics are short and you’ll start lip-syncing to it by the third time you listen to it (maybe the second time if you’re a sucker for romantic songs).
