Kim Kardashian slammed for promoting appetite suppressing lollipops
Were we surprised when we saw Kim Kardashian West endorse appetite suppressing lollipops on instagram? Not really.
The Kardashians aren't exactly the most credible bunch and sadly, the influential fam has been promoting questionable and problematic products and body ideals for years; social responsibility is clearly not their priority.
Kim Kardashian needs to knock it off with the appetite suppressant lollipop ads and stick to normal, healthy Instagram endorsements, like corsets, and laxative teas!

But that doesn't mean people aren't still pissed.
The sponsored post referred to the lollipops as “literally unreal” and promised 15 percent off to the first 500 people who purchased them from the company that makes them, Flat Tummy Co.

The post disappeared from Instagram for a while and it was initially thought that Kim deleted the image after all the backlash. However, it has since been restored; turns out, it was accidentally removed by the photo-sharing app and a rep for Instagram said in a statement to BuzzFeed News: “We mistakenly removed content we shouldn’t have and apologized to Kim for the inconvenience caused.”
People on Twitter, including actress Jameela Jamil have been calling out the reality star for being a bad influence on young girls:

wow i have lost all respect for Kim Kardashian. promoting appetite suppressants when it’s mental health awareness week?? there are so many people who battle or who have battled with an eating disorder and she is making not eating look like it is “trendy”. disgusting and selfish.

Appetite suppressant lollipops? And people wonder why I can’t stand Kim Kardashian? What an awful message to send to her huge amount of young followers who no doubt hang off her every word. This is not how you use your platform.

According to the Flat Tummy Co website, the lollipops contain an ingredient called SATIEREAL, made up of saffron extract, which works to “maximise satiety, which helps control food intake, cravings and weight”.
It is important to note that the website states in small print that none of its claims have been evaluated by the US Food and Drug Administration,
