Kumail Nanjiani's career trajectory is only going up.

After bagging an Oscar nomination for his original screenplay for The Big Sick, the comedian/actor is all set to star opposite Dave Bautista in Stuber, an action comedy from Fox.

Nanjiani will play a mild-mannered Uber driver named Stu that picks up a grizzled cop (Bautista) who is hot on the trail of a brutal killer. The driver finds himself thrust into a harrowing ordeal where he has to keep his wits, his life and his five-star rating.

Michael Dowse is directing the feature and it is being produced by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley.

Tracking Board also reports that Nanjiani is also currently in negotiations to star in The True American, a post 9/11 drama with Mark Ruffalo.
