The actress shared that she is "bowing out with immense satisfaction and a lot of pride"
01 Mar, 2018

If you had been waiting around for Aisha Khan's comeback, we've got some bad news.

The actress took to social media today to announce that she's leaving the entertainment industry.

“With great pleasure and humility, I have decided to bid farewell to our wonderful media industry. I am bowing out with immense satisfaction and a lot of pride to move on to the next phase of my life,” the actress wrote.

She added, “I have always tried to keep my professional and personal life separate and request everyone to understand please. I would also like to let my colleagues and friends know about the limitation that I might have had in accepting new projects since 2016 out of which a few scripts stayed with me for a long time. My apologies. As I move on in life to discover how fate unfolds, I would request my well wishers to remember me and my parents in their prayers."

Aisha's announcement took the industry by surprise, with many ofher co-stars like Ahsan Khan, Syed Jibran and Zahid Ahmed expressing their shock on her Facebook post.

Mansha Pasha said, "What?! The industry is going to lose one of its brightest stars and one of the best actors. However, respect your decision if it makes you happy."

"But what about us? We had to do one more together!" exclaimed Tooba Siddiqui. "Shine on my friend in whatever you feel happy in, may you lead ur life on best choices."

"Aisha, it takes a lot of courage to take this step. So proud of you. Great luck for [the] future, but we all will miss [your] on-screen magic," remarked Azfar Rehman.

Khan made her television debut 18 years ago with the the PTV drama serial Tum Yehi Kehna and went on to have a very lucrative career on television, starring in hit shows like Kuch Pyar Ka Pagalpan, Mujhe Khuda Pe Yaqeen Hai, Mehram, Khuda Mera Bhi Hai and Mann Mayal to name a few. She also acted in Bilal Lashari's directorial debut, Waar as well as Nadeem Baig's Jawani Phir Nahi Ani. Needless to say, her presence on screen will be missed!

Well she might have her own reasons which obviously she does not want them to be revealed in the public, after all everyone has a right to protect their private life, but I am sure that after working for 18 years in the entertainment industry she must have taken this decision with very thoughtfulness. She was great artist and one of the foremost leading ladies of the media industry, I am sure many new comers would have learned a lot from her. I hope one day she returns once again and grace our media industry with the presence. Best of Luck for your future.
