Shaan Shahid's Arth 2 trailer is out

The film is a remake of Mahesh Bhatt's Arth (1982) and stars Shaan himself, Humaima Malick and Mohib Mirza among others
Updated 19 Jan, 2018

The trailer for Shaan Shahid's much-anticipated film Arth - The Destination released Friday and it looks all sorts of intense!

Arth 2 is Shaan's attempt at remaking the 1982 Mahesh Bhatt classic Arth "to strengthen film trade between the two countries", and could mark the actor's comeback in romantic films "after many years", a press release quoted him as saying.

What we’ve gathered from the trailer so far is that Shaan plays the role of a singer called Ali who returns to Pakistan from the UK to make a professional comeback. We see towards the middle of the three minute trailer that this turns out to be harder than expected. And then comes the distraction.

Mohib Mirza will be seen as Umar, a filmmaker who’s married to Uzma Hassan’s character, also called Uzma, a writer by day, Ali’s fan girl by night.

Then we’ve got Humaima in full diva mode. She plays the role of a superstar and also the other woman in Mirza’s life. There’s talk about pain, crying, hints of infidelity; looks like this one’s going to be an emotional roller coaster to watch!

Shaan will step into Raj Kiran’s shoes; Humaima Mallick—the star of the film Bol—will be seen playing Samita Patil’s role of Kavita; Mohib Mirza—one of the lead actors of the film Dukhtar—as Inder Malhotra, and Uzma Hassan—the actress from one of the most popular Pakistani Drama serials Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahin—will be seen playing Shabana Azmi’s role of Pooja.

The film is expected to release on December 21 in cinemas worldwide.

He has always been bitterly against India , Bollywood , Indian films etc and now he is making a remake of Indian movie. That's hypocracy.

Why do Pakistani people wants artists to retire. In most countries actors can work forever however, they should do parts that suits their age and they can do justice to the role! Right now Pakistani needs to support every one of their movies! This is the only way to bring the art of film back to Pakistan and beyond! Public should realize film industry creates jobs for some many other people, not just artists! Support Pakistani films! Stop critiquing ,until they are making 200 movies a year!

@Irfan Farooqui verna is a different film with different kind of story! I loved verna trailer! Very intense! Social message film! This looks like relationship film! I think it is wonderful that Pakistani films are giving choices of actors and content of movies! I say support all pak films!

A fail movie by all means. Just saw the trailer on Dawn for the first time and really disappointed by the obscene scenes in the movie. Not a family movie by all means. Also disappointed with Shaan for working in a movie which by no means represent Pakistani culture . Looks more like a Bollywood movie to me. I don't know who that girl is in the lead role but is definitely not the right candidate for the role as there are better looking girls in Pakistan who are not just beautiful to look at but great actors too.

@Irfan retirement from lead role is the best option for him, in addition, i think he can fit himself in father's or uncle's role.
