After a year, Happy Bhaag Jayegi is getting a sequel.

The rom-com had marked Diana Penty's return after Cocktail and had gotten her critical acclaim.

Penty, last seen in Farhan Akhtar starrer Lucknow Central, will be reprising the role of Happy, the runaway bride.

This time though, she has a new member in her squad.

The makers of the sequel have roped in Sonakhsi Sinha to star in the film alongside Penty.

Sonakshi shared the news on social media.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the film is officially under way with Diana and Sonakshi as the leads.

Says Sonakhsi in a statement, "I'm thrilled to be on board of this really positive, vibrant and most importantly happy film unit. I loved the first part and I hope this one is bigger and better in every way. Can't wait to start shooting!"

About working in the sequel, Diana Penty, "Happy Bhaag Jayegi was a special film for me, so being part of Happy Bhaag Jayegi Returns is like going back to family! Happy Bhaag Jayegi was a fun, roller- coaster of a ride and I'm sure this one is going to be as much of a riot! I'm looking forward to the shoot."

The film is set to go on floors today and director Aanand L Rai is glad to have Sonakshi Sinha on board.

Says Rai, "Happy Bhag Jayegi was a cross-border comedy of errors featuring humorous characters and now we are happy to announce the sequel that has Diana passing on the happy-ness quotient to Sonakshi. Excited to have her on board."

Will Momal Sheikh and Javed Sheikh be returning in the film's sequel? We'll have to wait to find out.
