Amir Khan and Faryal Makhdoom call it quits - on Twitter

The boxer alleges his wife is with another boxer Joshua - but Joshua denies ever having met Faryal!

Amir Khan has reportedly split from his wife Faryal Makhdoom after accusing her of cheating on him.

The boxer took to Twitter Friday evening stating that he and his wife Faryal Makhdoom are calling it quits.

He accused her of cheating on him with another boxer.

and being a gold digger.

Amir even mentioned the name of the boxer.

However, Faryal was quick to respond to his tweets.

And said that she gave the marriage her all, while he didn't.

She also apologised to all those affected by the news.

and followed it up with this.

Plot twist! Boxer Anthony Joshua, who Amir Khan alleges his wife cheated on him with, has no clue what is happening and tweeted saying he has never met Faryal.

... we are just as confused as you are, folks.

Update: Faryal Makhdoom has deleted her Twitter exchange with Amir Khan. She has since claimed on Snapchat that her account has been hacked whereas Amir denied it.

Amir and Faryal tied the knot in 2013 and have a daughter together.

Last year the boxer's family found itself deep in controversy after Faryal posted a Snapchat of domestic abuse at the hands of her in-laws, it snowballed and eventually the whole family got involved. Following that incident, earlier this year, a sex tape of Amir Khan leaked online on major US porn websites and the family got caught in yet another storm.

Images has reached out to Faryal Makhdoom for a comment and is awaiting a response.

Too bad, their marriage is over, they were a good couple. Social media or our lack of civility has brought us to share our private lives on the internet. Cooler minds didn't prevail, and when egos collide its all crash and burn. She is hot , and he has it going on for him, make hay when sun shines.

First of all this may be a blessing for Amir Khan. Secondly Please please please Amir stay quite. You may be a fighter in the ring but she has the biggest mouth in the country who will show no respect whatsoever so the less you say the better it may be. Finally both of you need to think about the fact that what ever bad you may be saying to each other in public at the end of the day you are talking to the father or mother of your sweet little child who may be reading all this one day.

When a couple start accusing each other for cheating that means they have lost the trust. Take some cooling time. Think about what you have done to save the marriage. What you have done to destroy the marriage. In simple, look at yourself, your faults, your mistake. You will find answer to many of "why". If you still not convinced that you were at fault too then just redefine your destination. Good luck!
