What's Coldplay doing in India (again)? We find out
Yup, it's happened — Coldplay's had its first concert in India, the same one that was rumoured to have tickets selling for INR25,000.
The British rock band was the headlining act of the Global Citizen Festival India, the first Indian edition of the world-travelling anti-poverty concert that took place in Mumbai this Saturday.
India got major bragging rights, as it enjoyed performances by Jay Z, Demi Lovato and The Vamps — as well as a bunch of Bollywood celebs like Farhan Akhtar, Ranveer Singh and A.R. Rahman — before enjoying the cherry on top that was Chris Martin and the band as the finale act.
Such was the anticipation for the Brit rocker that even Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to keep his speech short.
Chris Martin was introduced on stage by Shah Rukh Khan. They set up a pretty stage for him.
Coldplay was to sing a full 90-minute set at the concert.
Chris sang signature hits like 'Yellow', 'The Scientist', 'Fix You', 'VIva La Vida' and newer popular tracks like 'Hymn For The Weekend', 'A Sky Full of Stars', 'Paradise' and many more.
He tried his hand at a little Hindi singing with A.R. Rahman, which wasn't so bad...
Not as bad as the brief awkward period where he roamed around with the Indian flag tucked into the back of his jeans. Ummm, we don't do that to the national colours in this part of the world.

The day before, Chris visited a local school in Mumbai with Sachin Tendulkar. Chris tried his hand at some cricket!
And he let Sachin strum his guitar a little too.
When Coldplay was last in India, the band shot a music video for its track 'Hymn For The Weekend', starring Beyonce and featuring a few glimpses of Sonam Kapoor. The video was partly shot in a video spruced up by Taxi Fabric in collaboration with Pakistan artist Samya Arif.
