Bollywood breakout star Panjak Tripathi recently opened up about the Indian film industry and its standards. He said that people in Bollywood decide the value of a person "too quickly".

The Mimi actor told Bollywood Hungama, "There are a lot of obstacles, challenges, competition, insecurity but despite that, I'm here working on my terms and conditions and people have accepted me. I've respectfully refused films of big production houses that 'No, this isn't exciting me' and the other person has accepted it."

He added, "But yes again several times I would like to change about this industry that you decide the value of the artist too quickly. Don't decide the value, try to give everyone equal opportunities. But again, be it a business or the industry it is difficult to say that everyone should get equal opportunity."

Tripathi said that talent like him need a while to arrive in the film industry and at times people more talented than him are still "in queue" finding their own space.

The 45-year-old actor debuted in 2004 with a short role in film Run and then in 2006 hit film Omkara alongside Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Konkona Sen Sharma and Naseeruddin Shah. He has featured in dozens of films and TV series, however, his claim to fame has been film Gangs of Wasseypur and his lead role in web series Mirzapur.

The actor will be soon seen Srijit Mukherji's upcoming feature Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga with Four More Shots Please star Sayani Gupta. The film will release in India on Friday. Tripathi is also set to shoot for season three of his popular Amazon Prime series in which he is seen as don Kaleen Bhaiya.

Bollywood is being overtaken by South Indian film industries. The biggest hits in India recently have been Telugu, Tamil & Malyalam films, grossing more than 1000 crores each.
